If on one night a year you could do anything ... what would you do?

The Purge asks a question that's certainly strange ... and the answer can be very disturbing: if one night each year you could commit any crime without facing the consequences ... what would you do?

But the question of The Purge goes far beyond what it may seem, because it wouldn't be just you who could do what you liked on that night ... but also all your neighbours. So the question of The Purge, in fact, might be "Do you trust your neighbours?" And if not, just ask James Sandin (Ethan Hawke) and the rest of his family, the protagonists of The Purge, on whom the film focuses in all that night of madness.

They've decided to stay home locked in, without wanting to retaliate against anyone in "The Purge" ... but the rest of the city doesn't agree, and they'll be tested to see how far they're prepared to go to protect themselves when the flawed new rules of the outside world threaten their home, during the night of The Purge.
